Nosan Oil began operations in 1954 making it one of the oldest and last of the locally owned and operated oil companies in the area, providing exceptional service and home heating oil to the people of the Chisholm , Hibbing, Side Lake and Buhl areas of northern Minnesota.
In 2003, Mark Nosan took over the reins of the company and began expanding the operation.
John Nosan joined the company in 2005 allowing Nosan Oil to expand by purchasing Samson Oil of Hibbing and Michael’s Oil of Gilbert.
The following year Josh Nosan joined the company and further expanded the family business with the startup of NorthStar LP. After the purchase, clean up and installation of it’s propane bulk plant located at the old North Star site the company opened for business.
